Elise Ertl

Elise joined Rise Against Suicide in October of 2023. Originally from Wisconsin, Elise earned her degree in biology and writing at the University of Wisconsin - Superior in 2021, and then made her way out to Colorado to get her Master’s in Journalism at the University of Colorado Boulder in 2023. 

While in grad school, Elise worked at Startup Colorado and The Water Desk, helping with website content, management, and podcasts. During this same time, she co-wrote a 7-time award winning journalism article that covered the experiences of standing home survivors after the Marshall Fire in Boulder County. 

She became passionate about mental health and having access to the right mental health resources after seeing her own family and friends struggle without the help they needed. In her free time, she enjoys playing guitar and volleyball, and going for hikes.
