Kirsten Johnston (she/her)
Program Manager
Kirsten joined Rise Against Suicide in 2026 with a background in mental health systems. She holds a Bachelors of Social Work and a Masters of Public Health, and has experience in program management focused on improving access to care, strengthening partnerships, and supporting individuals during critical transition points within the mental health system.
Kirsten’s connection to youth mental health is both professional and personal. Her lived experience has shaped how she approaches this work, reinforcing the importance of compassion, timeliness, and creating systems where youth feel truly supported. She was drawn to Rise’s mission because of its focus on removing barriers and responding to youth in moments when support matters most.
Outside of work, Kirsten enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, hiking Colorado trails, and paddleboarding. She is excited to contribute her skills, perspective, and passion to Rise’s mission of supporting youth and families seeking mental health care.
